Since I last layed a post down I have,

1. Moved into the city.
2. Helped moved a Pool table into the house which took 6 hours.
3. Had to pay over $1300 in bond.
4. Neglected everything including friends.
5. Skated heaps around town cutting cars off and shit.
6. Fallen of my board heaps in front of beeping cars and shit.
7. Took a look at that man made iceberg in O Bay, dope.
8. Done heaps of illegal street things.
9. Got a new job, say hello to the 40k club for doing not much.
10. Been locked outside of my house twice and had to sleep next to the door untill the flatmate woke up and let me in, hahahaha.

Thats enough of that though. Something light to warm this post up.

This gig is going down this Friday and its going to be crazy hype. I advise for you if you have come accros this post to go get a ticket from my man Woody at Cosmic Corner if not there then from these places.

The Good Vs The Ugly

So the ugly part is, wait, pause because this is a multiple ugly situation. Last night befor I went to G.Luck's 7th Birthday bash I withdrew $100 from the ATM. Skated to the Foodmart downtown went to pay for my Beers on the best (resort to the picture).

And lord behold I lost my cash.. Straight not even 20mins between the two spots and I had lost my cash.. How bad could that be, sure you lose $20-$40 its ok, $50 your kinda upset but I had lost $100. I was straight about to get a ski mask and get my money back..

The double trouble is that I found out today through the bank that it was $120 NOT $100. Damn son way to kick a dude while hes down right? Nevermind though I still made Rent. Although Im going to be hitting that "Ethiopian Status" till next weeks pay.

... from the height of them Air Yeezy's? With a trend being built up (in my world) for a few sneakers popping around online with a much more higher then usual upper. I wouldn't mind these converse chuck high's because they still have a slim silhouette. I wouldn't mind teching them up a little bit though with a bit of razzel dazzel.

AAAAAAAaaAnd I'am feeling those Supra High's too which have been on display at Cheapskates down Cuba. I was checking them kicks called "Society's" while having a few brews down at the D.T.L. Yeah, I'm not afraid to be caught drinking down there. I think I would prefer the red and purple joints in suede and I would have to take a look at the grey shoes to make sure they wont get box crease, I just have a feeling it will be quite noticeable.

With everyone watching the bottom line when it comes to sales and keeping costs down in the retail world. It seems like an obvious answer would be to stand together trying to fend of this scary word "Recession" which has claimed so many retailing outlets lives! But the truth is, there's not enough pie for everyone to eat and if your not eating yours then someone else wont mind swiping it from you while you look the other way.

Meaning, if your not grinding as hard as the next man in these testing times, you may be setting yourself up to fail.

I'm really excited about news that I have discovered from two stores, literally and in particular (you don't have to look hard).

This is just a thought that I wanna share because I have over 12years in Retail and really enjoy conversation about it and ways to improve etc.

Remember that 1 + 1 (sometimes doesnt) = 2, it could = 3.

Boy'O'Boy my timing sucksss. Went upto Manky Chops to check it out and "OOOOPS never mind" they have lunch from 12-1pm. So I pulled out my camera and thought I would take some pictures of their stair case leading up because that was interesting enough. What should have taken me a few seconds to climb to the top ended up with me playing "Who's Who" in all the pictures.

Trying to keep inline with primarily focusing on Wellington I will be checking out Brad Williams otherwise known as "Slope's" show at Manky Chops. Slope has a unique painting style which at first glance I always felt like I was watching a pebble hit a pond with the ripple effect forming art. On top of that you have the amazing colour effortlessly blend itself in conjunction with my so called ripple's.

It was showing only untill the 27th of June but you know how story's are a little bit more fun when they are a little bit unexpected, righhht?

Time magazine are putting together a commemorative issue on Monday at $5.99. Rock magazine are putting together a book-a-zine and selling 450'000 copies at 9.99 - Got'damn son they are tripling their money (Insert Biggie Quote Here - Fuck Bitches, Get Money!!)

In Itunes.com's top 100, MJ is taking 11 out of the top 15 spots. B.E.P are second and seventh hahahahaha. Sean Kingston is 10Th, Are you crazy? Who the hell is downloading his garbage! Lady Gaga is 11Th. Once again refer to Sean Kingston! Linken Park are 14Th, nothing bad to say about them in comparison to the last two.

According to Wall St Journal MJ accumulated a debt of roughly between $300-$500 Milli US.

Ahm, so lets see. Considering I was that guy who could write 3000 word essays with 1000 words more then I would need, I wont bother here. I will let the pictures do the talking with side notes.

I aint kidding that as soon as I touch down in Auckland I dont care where I'am the first call is straight to Wendys. We would be eating at Wendys on a minimum of twice daily. The call goes like this -

Wendys: Hi can, I take your order please.
TheKid (Without hesitation): Number 6 with a bacon cheese burger on kaiser bun, extra salad and a small frosty, brrrrrap (notice the look in my eye, it had been 2.5years for this right here).

After that we went to Rak's to catch up with my homie Ty and it was Cian spinning while we were there (shot Rael for the shakey hand's)

We were staying with Missy's sister Tarin. It just so happens that she lives in the Ponsonby Mansion. This house is famous because of all the big names who have lived and been apart of it. It use to be Otis Frizzels house proof in the picture lets see if you can spot it!! God damn, I almost broke down when I saw it casually chilling on the wall in the living room!! We celebrated making it in once piece with some French Champagne, holla.

They also had a Hand Signed poster by Marty Edmond from Illicet clothing. Art work from WOW 123, D-Mote, Askew all from Deadre of the old Disruptive crew.

When we started this blog it was with a few friend's hence the plural on "Kid's" who presented information. As time went on The "Kid's" became one as the other homies fell off "TheKid" was left standing.

The Idea was (to the best of our ability) keep Wellington City's Street's updated with information which would prove more important to the locals. Dont get me wrong I love reading about what is going on around the world especially at trade shows such as Bread and Butter and the latest one to get ready for S.L.A.T.E.

Enter the "You got Mail section".

But I also wrote this blog for this perfect reason. As you blog about your fav labels, brands which filter their way over to New Zealand. You always hope to be contacted by one of the brands peoples who's job it is to see what is happening in that wide world of the internet.

While checking thekidspresent@gmail.com and amongst all the clutter within the internet the marketing manager for Hellz Bellz contacted me which reminded me why I do this.

So as Im trying to nurture a new Hiphop Radio show for Wellington, keep this blog updated with the most current information and still work on my own clothing project. I hope the readers will come along for the journey and who know's where we will be in 2-3 years!

Here is a picture from SlamXHype with the Willhelm X Camper shoe Collaboration. Camper are a Spanish show company who p[ride themselves on making handmade shoes well that was how it was almost 10years ago. I use to rock the Polata style. I swear absolutely one of the most comfortable shoes availiable.

Ahm, well lets talk! Firstly congratulations to Huffer for taking another step towards global domination. I think its nice to see them step out of that bubble of Australasia which will more then likely be the hardest thing for most New Zealand brands to break through if you haven't already made your mark in the Australian market.

This little pleasant surprise got me a little curious and after checking out their website it doesn't even mention it. That's a double edged sword though and if you cant figure out why then I'm definitely not going to point it out to you. But I hope that in the near future, that Huffer do put up a 'Press' section for their website because all of their press coverage needs to be documented.

My opinion says that their clothes will sit really well amongst some of the other prolific brands stocked on 'Digi' lets just hope that they don't get lost amongst that same clutter. I personally cant wait to see the 'WDYWT' from American street wear forums where people are rocking the Huf.

Kate Sylvester - New Range

Last Thursday was the Release Party for Kate's new Range titled Black Swan. The range is very niche niche with a lot of attention to detail. The pieces are beautifully crafted and well executed, I like the simple things like the Crown emblem with the famous Swan stitched over it on some of the men's pieces.

The piece above is what I wanted to try and get my head around though. Its a one off "Hello Kitty" inspired dress made for M.A.C where the proceeds are going to the Museum of FIT. I had to see the pieces in life so I could make a better assumption the cocktail dress in store is a longer by comparison and the hood is displayed through out her range minus the ears. Kate's real nice, I mean I had to ask her about this piece and she gave me the time, she also lamented at the fact that she couldn't have it on display for the opening but all in all I hope that someone within our country can win the bid and keep it within New Zealand.

Where you been? What's been going on?

Since being forced to move from Hataitai to Brooklyn due to a crappy landlord I have moved back into Hataitai. After living in Brooklyn I realised that I actually hate that place as a suburb. I found that Brooklyn sucked the life out of me.

I loath Brooklyn and possibly Brooklyn-ites. I thought to myself that I wouldnt mind living there but after I moved into a house where we had extra flatemates, mainly white tail spiders and fleas from the previous owners pet's and so much dampness from a burst water pipe again from the previous owners. I knew it was time to get out. Im back in Hataitai and Im feeling like posting again.

Sneakers, How Much Is To Much

Never have sneakers been the piece of footwear that everyone needs to own, in such a huge state where every kid can now feel like a collector. The words "I Collector Sneakers" always guaranteed you the weirdest facial expression amongst friends and sheep who didn't quite know or understand the necessity to buy or 'Cop' as it is that special '1 of 36 Limited Edition' Sneaker.

Everything goes mainstream which is the reason why a lot of collectors may or may not have already revolted with brands such as Nike who in my opinion seem to almost throw a 'Limited Edition' tag on most sneakers (such as the Liberty x Blazer above). Although the most sort after 'Collaborated Sneaker' amongst Sneakers. This isn't the be all to end all.

As I have noticed (not claiming to be the first) that Vans have been the popular choice of footwear around the world due to simplicity and lower price point. I own a few pairs because they always -

- compliment the tapered denim
- are a nice touch of colour without being overstated
- cheap price, so cheap I don't care if my white pair end up with 'Blood' or 'Red Wine' on the first wear.

But the sneaker that needs more attention is the 'Designer Sneaker' that follow the same aesthetics as their clothing, 'Simplicity, Clean Style and Well Executed' well mostly. Brands like Raf Simons, Lanvin, DKNY, Helmut Lang are brands of Sneakers I wish that our failing dollar would allow me to afford or that I was based in Europe to be able to have access to these 'Sneakers'
(Lanvin Sneakers to the right).

So is it virtually at the point where 'Sneakers' are at an overload point. That you need to go out there and 'Cop' you the latest pair of house shoe, moccasin rocking slippers just to get kudos from your, well know one surely cares about the latest designer footwear slipper you just brought. But as I search amongst sites which push to the forefront and inform the 3% of and about Street Wear Culture. I notice that this hot (winter overseas) item is the new shoe/sneaker to be in slight demand. A true sad state where I'm simply not impressed (Basecontrol Moccasin to the right).

Sneakers on Rotation for 'TheKid' equal Asic's, Van's, Helmut Lang and the only Nike Shoe I own Jordan 3's.

So at TheKids HQ, we kinda thought that we would have something dope to blog about from Thursday nights activities. Dont get me wrong what we were trying to do was pretty amazing but it fell through last minute as most things do, ofcourse. But dont think that we didnt turn up empty handed.

This weekend down lefties there is going to be a major buff going on. One of the walls will be painted buy some prolific writers and some lucky little toys where if they help out they might get a chance to actually get up on the wall. I got invited to paint for the Boombox Gallery family but thought that I didnt deserve the right to get up. Even though it would have been the perfect chance for me to show some people how I use to get down. This is a major project that has been spear headed by "E" from www.Leftbank.co.nz so all the best and good luck.

Anyway this just in, secret throwie by as "E" has called him "Mr.A" Or "Aux Boy". This kid is nice and we had a dope conversation about Auckland and he even showed me a few x-rated pieces which was dope. But here are the quick/lazy pictures that were sent in to me. Here is the celebratory post for actually blogging for longer then a year. That's almost a year longer then most others. I think one of the reasons why I wanted to blog was because of www.slamxhype.com. I always found the information rather interesting albeit to what it is now. I never was a A student and English was my worse subject. I just purely loved Street Wear and its culture. The concept is rather simple accept make it more Wellington focused.

Sometimes there just wasn't enough to blog about but of course there was. When your trying to do a million things at once, nothing gets written for the blog. These things you just go through and learn.

I have always tried to stick my own blog ethos and if you even look back over the years entries you can kinda see that I know what I'm talking about when it comes to blogging about this and that. There is still a lot of room to grow with this and its obviously all about being first. The challenge is there.

Doing this for fun has lead me to meet some amazing people, its put me in touch with people from around the world, its allowed me to try and live my life the way I actually want to and to perform those jobs that I always found hard to get into. Sure its all for free now but who knows whats going to be held in the future. I just hope that I can say for Wellington, New Zealand that atleast I was apart of this befor it was something to be apart of.

In my opinion concerts like these are for the purist, the fanatical the most official fan. Last nights concert was a tick in that "Yes I watched Yeezey perform" box with the added bonus that NaS was there to.

Kanye's performance was sub-par but what can we expect? Hes a pop star and he gave a pop star performance where NaS show cased all of his 17 years in the SHOW business and had us "Purist's" bouncing from wall to wall". I knew Kanye was going to do a massive encore which was a pleasant surprise. How ever 20Min love lock down track was a bit weird and had me walking out the door. So to Mr.West thanks for coming to New Zealand but NaS stole your show man.

This day is by far the best I have experienced and this weekend is an absolute killer for me. The weather is kill kill, so Wellington city get your fix and enjoy the weather. Yo the weather was so good that Icecream had to be in effect for today. I think we kicked off the craze down in Glover park becuase once we finished everybody was eating them.

Extra extra, Manners Mall Retailers get fucked up..

Apparently I was a half hour to late to see the crazy loco running around Manners smashing in the shop windows. But as soon as I got there I couldn't help but laugh. I really want to know what was going through that guys mind to make him want to get crazy abusive on it. Plus this is just another "Strong Cased" reason for the council to actually go forth with their plans to turn that little haven for derelicts/hobo kids and Wino-Booze Hags into the new bus route connecting the opposite streets.

PS - No doubt there had to be one person running around telling everybody what happened as if she was famous or something. I politely told her to get lost aka 'fuck off lady, im not intereseted'.
